Rihanna - We found love -

We had a class discussion on how the video was presented and what kind of effects that were used. We came to a conclusion where we all decided that the video was very powerful describing the love/hate releationship and how much they love each other where they don't mind going thru drugs, drinking together. So many effects in this video like drug taking where the cigarettes ashes changes colours as they smoke it and when they take drugs you can see the pupils in the eye shrinking. The whole of the video is very interesting with the different images and beats. It may look like the video is giving out a bad image about drugs and smoking and drinking but its actually showing how perfect it was being in love also having drugs and how horribly wrong it became at the end with all the arguing and fighting despite how happy they both were.

''its like your screaming and no one can hear, you almost feel ashamed that someone could be that important and without them u feel like nothing. no one will ever understand how much it hurts you feel hopeless like nothing can save you, and when its over and its gone you almost wish u can have all the bad stuff back so you can have the good. '' - This was the narrative before the sound started and its clearly saying that regardless of how bad it was all you just wish you can have it all back to have the good as well. In the end Rihanna finds the strength to actually walk away and not look back.

Green Screen. Homework.

Also known as the Chroma key. This is a special technique on one video image to another. Using one colour back ground can help to use scenes and other effects. For example TV reporters and news use this. Chroma key composts two layering images together and most commonly used in video production and post production. 

14th November & 17th November

14th November- I shot my practice and actual performance on the roof top with my crew also mr Ayres was there to capture some moments. After about 5 failing trial i managed to get 2 serious videos of me performing Shontelle - Impossible.

17th November- Mizbah perfomed her Airplanes at the Catheredal and tried her performance in various of angles and shot. Sitting down, standing up and also walking down the stairs.

Samsia and shalini has perfomed theirs and all we got left to do is the last verse where we ALL be in it, by walking together to - Im coming home +dead and gone, at the end.

10th November.

I was suppose to be filming today but I had a doctors appointment so i couldnt make it in time.  Mizbah is filming her scene in Coventry Town. Shalini and Samsia has filmed their scene.

Today we all joined are groups and we were told to decide on Mis en Scene, Location and Risk Assesment, and further planning on our music video. Period 3 we went with our groups to take all kinds of shots and pictures of the things that would represent things for our location. For example we took a picture of the stair case from a high distance like a birds eye view and we asked permission to go on the Roof Terrace and took different kinds of shots from the roof view. We went out today aswell to capture some of the shots we missed out last time. We talk over the shoulder shots with each of us walking down. Then after that we came back and now we are going to decide what pictures will be used in our mood boards.

the risks that can happen is the height from rooftop i need to be careful also the surface on the hills if i use that location. I will make sure that i am safe by making sure i am watching how im walking and the props and camera equipment do not get in the way of my performance.

The location for this setting would be perfect if it was somewhere nice like on the rooftop or a nice field with a hill surrounded by trees so it can set a depressing/dull mood to go with the lyrics. My ideas are to use the school rooftop if i am allowed if Im not then i will use a nice quiet field with maybe a hill. The field location will be perfect because because it will be quiet place and no one will be there and I can perform it maybe after sunset? So I can capture that perfect gloomy scene. I will be wearing normal not very bright coloured clothes and I think i might wear a blonde wig for props. The lightning will be dark and dull to go with my scene. The shot will be a longshot/ medium to capture everything along with the feelings and expression also including the background.

Notes for Mondays Lesson - 3/10/2011

In todays lesson we all decided and stuck to what we wanted to do and planned out the perfomance with details. Whos going to sing what and who is going to do what? After we all agreed and was happy with what we wanted to do it was time for us to discuss with Mr.Ayres if it was okay and give him a description of what we would like to do.. We have also decided to think about the places where we would like shoot the scene.

Notes from today's lesson. 29th September

To start the lesson of with we watched the different types of videos such as, performances, narrative and concepts, and distinguished between them. Then after lip syncing + singing with the whole class to Glee- don't stop believing. Doing this activity made each and every one of us gain confidence and have a little boost. After that we were told to go on to the computers and research our own performance, narrative and concept and blog about them. Then after break we was all put in to our groups for the music video and continue searching for the song we want so could act upon it and be prepared to start it. The music was a cover by Megan Nicole who has been recognised by singing on YouTube. Her music involves all the chorus's from RNB famous songs and she put them together to make it one song. We chose this music because because it all fitted in with our taste of music and everyone agreed on it. Also not to mention that it has about 5/6 really good songs put together. Which is all our favourite types of music.

Eminem-Stan.
I chose this precise song to be a narrative because through the whole song this music video is based on a story. A Story about Stan who was mentally in love with Eminem and was his number 1 fan. He was very obsessive about him wrote him letters everyday and wanted to get replies asap but when Eminem replied he had a car crash because he was driving in the rain and was angry at Eminem for not replying back to him, he was in the car with his pregnant girlfriend. The video started off where Stan was in the toilet just making effort to look exactly like Eminem by bleaching his hair his colour and also having the same vest as he Eminem would wear and carries on how his girlfriend was getting a bit worried at the fact his going over the top now and how shes pregnant and he hardly cares about her but cares about Eminem more. Stan has this basement where the walls are filled with all Eminem's pictures and posters everywhere.

Beyonce- Single ladies.
I chose this for Performance. As you can see the whole video is based on her dancing with the other two girls. Shes a very good dancer.  The location is just set in plain white background and through out the whole thing it is shot in black and white. The contrast brightens and sometimes starts to dim as they dance. Also there are numerous of shots shot through out the performance. Theres extreme close up and birds eye close up and medium close up. Also pan close up.

Aphex Twin - Come To Daddy.
 I chose this video for concept because  this video is very unusual and weird. The location the props, everything about the music video is scary also how the men have a body of a little girl and theres so many of them.

• 4Narrative: I think the storyline is that he is thinking about something serious and very stressed out? but in his mind he escapes himself by wandering off and dancing away..
  
• Treatment (concept):its a solo dance perfomed by Christoper Walken..
  Its a bit weird just sitting here watching him break in to dancing whlist sitting there looking very tensed. Very unexpected, because you I didnt think he would be a good dancer:D

Mise en scene..

• Clothes/Make up: the outfit on each person in Florence and the machine is very bright and white and its like a summers day/ picnic that they are having.. Also something compared to Alice in the wonderland. The make up is not very dark its light for example Florence's lip colour is a very bright pink it goes with the whole outfit and the atmosphere..  I personally think the make up is like very natural, maybe symbolising pure/virgin look.

• Locations:  Its set in a large evergreen field surrounded by large green tree's. Its very open and free. Its mainly set in the centre of the field where the table is and also there is a lake.   

• Props: There is a massive table filled with lots and lots of food, also various types of fruits it is representing the theme of last supper. Also the grapes symbolises the high life also wine.
• Lighting: High key lightning very bright not much contrast in the scene. Because its a happy scene and very pleasant. 
• Actor movements/expressions: The singer is Florence and she seems like shes just doing her own thing and dosent really have any care in the world shes expressing her feelings by dancing.
